I have one outdoor jacuzzi in one of my rent houses and the saving grace is the renter is mechanically inclined and has fixed it when it had little malfunctions which is great for me.

If the house was in the condition the HUD site 'suggested' - with plumbing issues and some bad outdoor steps, I would have been very pleased with my bid.

The nice thing about STR's is that if you hate it, you can block out all future rentals (and even cancel reservations if you really want to burn the bridge) sell the furniture, and be done with it much easier than evicting a bad tenant.
