I want experience managing shared walls.

I vault from 8' wall plates to 9' in entry, living, kitchen and dining.

@Nat Chan I would paid to be a fly on the exterior of any street wall day...lol.

I was lucky after opening up a wall in one of the units to find out that the plumbing system for each unit is separate.

It was a foreclosure so there were holes in many of the walls so we had to repair drywall and re-paint the whole house, but it was definitely worth it.  

We have seen it recommended that walls & ceilings be washed with special soap and/or vinegar and lemon water to kill the odor.

Typically, that requires a retainer from the attorney and court fees.   

I tried to find one with at least a privacy wall, but couldn't find one that was also obvious to be in a basement.Too bad I don't have a picture of the one from my childhood home. 

Since you did not do the inspection how do you dispute the hole in the wall was not there when they rented? 

I assume that I would be responsible for the property taxes and this is probably covered in the Sub2 contract, but does that entitle me to use those property taxes on my income tax filing or does the original owner still retain that benefit since the mortgage is in her name?
