Stay in school, and get a finance degree with a focus on real estate, or go to trade school and become an electrician/plumber/HVAC.Can you be successful without it? 

It will help you either start quickly or seamlessly transition into wholesaling office and commercial properties.If I were in your shoes, I'd first save towards a nice place for your growing family, while learning the wholesale trade, and then focus on realizing your goals as a wholesaler.

@Keri Whitmire Always focus on the seller, not the price.

I literally don't want to spend time/money on property (since it is NNN) and continue to focus on current job.- If for any reason, my visa doesn't get approved or have to go back to home country (india), will it be too difficult to sell the property being commercial?

I plan on primarily focusing on buy and hold in eastern North Carolina.

We started out with student rentals and, while we have branched out, renting to students is still core to our business.We have two properties with a focus on International students.
