Normally it's pretty easy to determine what to pay the landowner when building small scale solar farms, but this is a totally different animal.It's highly unlikely you'll be subjected to any eminent domain issues as these are privately owned investments but if they've already gotten approvals, financing, and other landowners in place you're sort of stuck anyway because the value of your land is about to be dictated by 11 square miles of neighbors.In the end - just do what Bill and Jon said and talk to your neighbors.

I would encourage you to read up on cash flow and what it takes for a property to truly cash flow (as Jon would say NOT 75% of GOI - PITI as the banks calculate).

I have not bid on any properties on the courthouse steps, but I have auctioned several for my bank clients.For bid amounts, Jon is correct -- the bank will usually be the first to bid and their price is either the amount owed on the loan or some sort of determination of market value.
