My slice of advice would be to education yourself to get the basics down, listen to the podcasts, read countless books and keep educating yourself as you begin to actually invest.

It might also open doors for positions requiring a college degree of any sort.When I left the engineering field for business, for example, I had the education and experience needed to take the exam for the professional engineering license.

Also educate yourself on your states specific laws regarding landlord/tenant disputes.

Over the past couple of months, I have been educating myself on real estate investing and my goal for 2019 is to purchase my first property.
