It sounds to me as if your partner took money from you as an investment in a fake company and converted the funds for his personal use.You need to take legal action before he gets a mortgage on the property or finds a buyer.You have already said he is less than honest.You also mentioned a quit claim deed.

Chance is that @Brian Woods is correct and it's just a ploy to not refund your money even though there is a possibility that the Uninstall Code might be generated as a pop-up or such during the uninstall.Anyway it would be a good thing to try and find out if this is actually a ploy and fake uninstall code request or just a issue with the software and let others know about it.Btw my background is DevOps/Systems Engineering.
