1) Collect all the guy's info, you'll need it to pursue him if he's really trying to shake you down 2) Get bids from at least 3 different plumbers, preferably from a referral from BP3) You'll need information from 2) to determine if he was indeed scamming you.

You will find many scams and con artists out there as well some day.Chalk this experience as a success.

I've done some reading about it, though, and see that many of these ads are scams  -such as wholesalers offering properties that aren't really available simply to generate lists of potential buyers to whom to sell to in the future or to simply sell the lists.

He could be anything from a legit investor to a scam artist to a clueless investor who may lose your money accidentally.

If you can't find him, then it is a scam.

I ran into a similar scam last summer here in Dallas.

Your only real defense in any business from getting scammed is an education and experience.

The likelihood of someone scamming me with a photoshopped pay stub seems pretty low.

@Hector Idarza I am glad you decided to stay away form them, please spread the word too..his youtube videos are informative but his products are a scam..we got scammed by them along with 300 other investors.

There is nothing wrong with paying for your education but many real estate investing gurus are a scam In general the more expensive the are the more likely they are a scam.
