If these things are costing you money and are options for you; Get rid of your cable tv, get on a cheap cell phone plan (total wireless), get rid of payments or leasing a vehicle and buy a beater.

The only thing that has worked for me is putting monitored, wireless alarm systems into each one of my houses. 

Iv tried the 100% wireless and have found that based on battery life and cloud based service the technology is not quite there yet.

Another idea, if the property doesn’t already have it, is to put a wireless keypad on the garage door.
