You have a different kind of short term rental, and you are there. 

We’ve been gathering information about the rental property market in Japan in terms of realistic expectations for yields, as well as a reasonable timeline for getting started and generating income to support our family. 

It's good to put together a long-term plan, but I have never understood how someone with 0 properties is more worried about how to scale then how to build the foundation correctly.You are putting the cart before the horse.

The conversation process in some areas is expensive and the timeline can be pretty lengthy while you're waiting for the process to be approved.

This is a long-term strategy for me as litigation can take years in some cases, but with a decent backlog of these types of foreclosures, especially commercial properties, it's well worth the time investment!

Are you saying I can find professional long term  house mates  or travel nurses in those areas?
