Recessions are exhausting, scary, sad, frustrating, anxious times; and while it might seem exhilarating to be able to find great real estate deals, there aren't too many people giddy over the prospect of negotiating short sales with seller who have no place to go or getting a great price on a house because the owner is facing foreclosure in two days.The best way to describe it is like receiving an organ transplant. 

I had to appraise an extremely large cash handling facility that was essentially a giant vault at one point in my short appraisal career.

The banking system is extremely healthy now.

However it is extremely rare.

I have since determined that the partnership works extremely well and together we are far stronger.  

With all of the volatility in the stock market, I wanted to offer some insight into my investing experience and how I position my overall portfolio to get through extreme volatility like what we are currently seeing.
