They might not get what they pay for and more importantly, (in my opinion) they actually MIGHT get what they pay for and end up being complicit in a forbidden act with the entity that sold them the data.When I received my CDIA certification, as a credit issuer, and as a credit report dispute administrator, I had to go through a gauntlet of tests and study on state and federal rules related to how I am required to store, monitor, manage and report my borrower's non public personal information (Specifically credit information). and, the penalties associated with non compliance.My last two cents is, an original creditor can and DOES sell individual loan performance history, on an individual borrower but, that information is sold to a debt buyer (Collection agency) that has a permissible use and is under contract with strict rules for compliance.
