How many streams of income do you have? 

I am in a completely unrelated field (health care) but many of us have second jobs for additional income, including myself, so RE is just a third stream of income and everyone understands (or probably doesn't care).  

One location, one roof, one yard, one parking lot, one mortgage, one tax/electric/water/sewer/garbage bill.Multiple income streams to cover vacancies.

The goal of this is to create an income stream for senior parents, so I want to be very careful.

You can get list from list source, Prop Stream, etc.  

Find a skiptracing company with flexible pricing plans, now long-term contracts, and excellent customer service to pair with prop stream's list generation.

I still enjoy the bigger brokerage model, but wanted to pay less out of pocket and also explore more streams of revenue - so I joined eXp. 

Rather than sell the homes, my strategy has always been to hold rental properties long-term so I can build a steady stream of income to complement my 9 to 5 job.
