If your agent is out of pocket for 3 days, there should be someone else in their office ready to submit your offer and get a cut for doing your agent's work.That said, I'm almost through the four hour work week and I know I shouldn't be checking email and answering calls on vacation... but SOMEBODY needs to take my calls and answer emails when I'm on vacation (still working through finding a virtual assistant).

I had a lot of irons in the fire I guess...sold my home, moved in w/ fiance, 50+ hour work weeks, remodel/repair apartments myself, fill 4 units that went vacant almost at once. etc.

I learned about real estate investing from Grant Cardone's podcasts and have read several books since then, including Rich Dad Poor Dad, the BP Ultimate Beginner's Guide, The E-Myth Revisited, and The 4 Hour Workweek.

I know a 40 hour work week is industry standard for contractors, but the next one I hire will have to make me confident they are willing to do what it takes to meet deadlines.Some other things to lookout for: Advanced age (this guy was in his sixties) may equal experience - but lets face it - it also means less ambition and energy.
