What type of housing do active soldiers like if staying off base?

Is this Soldier looking for someone to manage his/her property or are they looking to rent?  

And telling someone not to learn a little bit about protecting their assets is like telling a soldier going in to war not to worry about how to fire a rifle.

It makes it extremely hard if your rents are in line with BAH of the common soldier in your area.

I am a 25 year old active duty Soldier interested in real estate investing.

When my lender tried to get me preapproved for my conventional loan wells fargo initially said "we won't let him get another personal loan because he just refinanced his VA loan 7 months ago" my lender politely told them to read the soldiers and sailors relief act, and my copy of orders with appropriate date etc, and to process the application, 1 day later I was qualified.

SF but an important distinction to point out is that a lot of the younger Soldiers stay in the barracks on post until they get married or have high enough rank (those would be your Soldiers that could potentially prefer MF because they are more cost conscious). 

I moved to San antonio as a soldier stationed at BAMC (a military medical center) and was fortunate to get a government job thereafter.
