Hopefully you have consulted a US CPA and a counterpart in Australia, and they've green lit a US SMLLC directly owned by you as the optimal structure, and you've run an ROI calc and taken into consideration these elevated professional fees. 

I wasn't put on this green earth to be normal, and most of the people around us are normal!

I am currently reading David Greene's book Long Distance Real Estate Investing as well. 

The biggest thing to do now is to mitigate you risk while also achieving high enough clasflow yields that keep you in the green while also given your renters the ability to be flexible.
