I would love to get calls from all of the absentee owners (probably use yellow letters for them), but I'd like to get calls from the desperate owner occupied leads as well (maybe form letters for them).

If you're working with people in desperate situations, you don't want to look like your making huge profits off their situation.

It's hard for a person to be in control when they are desperate.

They typically have an inventory for sale and at the very least know who is desperate and could feed deals once you work the relationship.

Everybody says the mindset of somebody desperately trying to sell their house is different  from your mindset .  

Forget weird scribbles, doodles, or any desperate form to get their attention.

I'm sure no BP member would ever stoop to such tactics ;) Seriously though, do you think the market has become so saturated that these people are just desperately scouring the planet for anything just hoping for a bite?

I know the investor way of looking at this is "helping" desperate sellers but that's not the way other people see it.You also got other investors jealous and I just saw a guy this morning take down a few of my signs and put his on the same spot.

Just because you are desperate for deals doesnt mean you should resort to illegal methods that are normally the domain of ripoff artists like indian tech support scammers and car warranty scammers. 

Then I could feel out how desperate the seller was and what kind of offer it would take from me to snag a deal.
