I am currently in the middle of a full rehab of a duplex in Southern Orchards, and my contractor(Ohio Native) recommended that I should stick to vinyl planks throughout the home, except for the bedrooms which should be carpeted.

I am a native who now lives in Nebraska which is right next to Texas with the highest property taxation ranking in the Nation. 

As a Southern California native in the early 90's I would drive out to Vegas often for weekend getaways and I remember driving up 15 when the Hacienda was literally the only structure south of Tropicana down there all by itself, aside from a random motel/gas station, and that was the beginning of the wide open desert. 

-About 4 years into our stay, his wife got a job offer in her native country and they all moved.
