Ambitious/Hopeful RE Newbie coming to Northwest Indiana

Hello BP,

My name is Adam Detig, 25 yo, and I'm preparing to move from Charleston SC to the Lowell/Cedar Lake/Schererville IN region in a couple weeks. I am an Illinois native and followed to wife to SC for her schooling. She is graduating and we are heading back closer to home.

I am a newbie when it comes to real estate experience. Over the last 2 months I have read almost all of the books on BP's top 20 list, have listened to as many podcasts/webinars as possible, and have analyzed numerous deals using BP's spread sheets and guidance. I've also been learning from my brother, @Ryan Detig, who is starting his real estate investing down in Texas (he directed me to BP).

My short term goals are to use part of the savings we have accumulated to find a small multifamily to house hack, learn the ropes to being a landlord, and gradually accumulate buy and hold properties in hopes of one day not requiring a W-2 job.

I want to safely control my financial future, and I feel real estate is a great way to achieve that goal. BP has already been an influential tool in directing my path towards real estate and I'm excited to learn even more from you knowledgable members.

Thank you for reading, and I hope you reach your real estate goals.
