I remember thinking at the time how unusual that was, but attributed it to Bill Justice, the attorney for the County, who has been a tax sales expert going all the way back to his famous 1981 Cumberland Law Review article about redemption rights.

It's my understanding that for every deal they close like this, they get a huge credit towards the recent mortgage company lawsuits that were curiously brought about by the justice department.

Supreme Court stated in 1934 that due process is not upheld "if a practice or rule offends some principle of justice so rooted in the traditions and conscience of our people as to be ranked as fundamental.”1 One would assume the principles so rooted include the right to be heard before an impartial judge, the right to challenge evidence and cross examine witnesses and to present a rigorous defense.

State RE laws may have a 1,000 pages but probably less as many have a paragraph as a page.Mortgage financing is in volumes, about 15 books of 3/400 pages each, laws are in the tens of thousands of pages and intertwined in federal law into areas that I didn't even dream of now, as an example, the Dodd-Frank Act intersects with the Department of Agriculture, Department of Defense, the EPA, Sec; of Labor, Education and Justice, the Dept. of the Treasury and many more.I certainly don't know it all, I'd say it's impossible for one person to be fully informed of all aspects of lending and mortgage activities.
