We've also had the app randomly drop certain features (like the entire "spa" button on the app) after the main unit in the house was accidentally unplugged.....forcing us to uninstall and re-install the app while testy guests look over our shoulder.   

Supporting thr contractor weekly payments is not a bad thing, it actually saves you money also, most handyman type GCs borrow money with interest to pay for payroll,  when you take that route, it might end up you shouldering those fees.
