Primary for durability (oak) cause it doesnt ding and dent like soft wood,,,and 6 panel is LESS prone to fist damage/holesIf I were going to paint white maybe a 6 panel pine door would be just as effective and a little cheaper.What style of door and 'trim' is in style these days?????

Depends too on the debris, if you have oak leaves, any will likely do, if you have pine trees, the needles get caught on the guards and cause a dam build up.
