Something cheap within $60k with existing tenants...Then I noticed that there are a lot of vacant units and it may not be easy to get one with good cashflow.Looking elsewhere, i thought West Coast is preferred as I am residing in Singapore and it will be a shorter trip should I need to come by to inspect.

Investing in precious metals is a bad idea at the moment as you'll be buying in towards the top of a recent run up - the gold/silver bubble will burst on June 30th (or thereabouts) when QE2 ends - you'd be better off buying dividend paying stocks in resource rich economies like Australia, Brazil, or your own home country, Canada.I personally use the preffered stock ETF (ticker: PFF) you get a monthly check and a nearly 7.5% yield and you do 0 leg work.

I like my tenants to think I am frugal so they won't be having rich tastes when they want a new fridge or fancy landscaping.
