Scout your local market for homes and use learn how to analyze flip deals.If possible, connect with a realtor in your target area and see what info hey can offer on what neighborhoods are good etc.I also suggest 2 books by J Scott:-The book on flipping houses -The book on estimating rehab costsGoogle them!

And on a potentially more helpful note, you might go around to the tax foreclosure auctions to make some contacts and offer to scout auction properties.Since many of them go off the market right up until the auction day, you might get on good terms with some flippers that don't have the time/energy to scope out the deals themselves.

I use the crime data in neighborhood scout and the akron pd data to exclude properties in areas with the highest violent crime rates.

@Aaron Litzenberg that's one way to do it.... but you have to bring value in those venues.. and be careful that the movers and shakers don't abuse you and your time.. as they have nothing to lose sending you out scouting for them.

Thats assuring , I was scouting through some rehabbed houses that are curretly listed and I found some people did that and it doesnt look too bad
