In July 2011 while out canvassing a neighborhood, I was jumped by 3 guys and I was beaten pretty badly, sustaining injuries to my head and spinal cord.

To be interested in one of these, seems to me you need to assess your risks, now that we are in the post nuke era, not much of target in my neck of the woods for any major risk.
