The Power Of Relationships!!
23 February 2017 | 4 replies
The key is to know what type of person you are dealing with, across the table. If they are relationship oriented, then see if you can bend a little when (the inevitable) dispute(s) arise. If they are transaction oriented, don't be surprised if they "want it all, and want it all - NOW!"

Handyman/Maintenance Query for Out of Town Landlords
6 March 2017 | 4 replies
My concern is that some emergency will happen or a maintenance request will be submitted that needs attention before I will return and I will not be able to handle it.As a result, I have called numerous South Bend handyman services but none seem to offer 24h service or answer calls. My question is, how did some of you smaller landlords handle this issue?

Aluminum Wiring - NewBie mistake
22 January 2017 | 9 replies
There are three methods for aluminum repair approved by CPSC1 - Change all the wires (Most expensive )2 - copper pig tailing with COPALUM (Less expensive but require the electrician to be certified in using COPALUM)3 - Alumicon connectors (very economical. this is a product by "The king innovations" These are special connectors and available at home depot around 65$ per pack pf 25. ) I actually asked my electrician to use that but he found out that the box does not have enough room to install this product and he warned if we do that the aluminum wire may bend and break and would cause fire)Fortunately we found that most of the wet outlets were copper.
