Use the aluminum tape when taping the seams.

Please don't rush out to switch your historic windows -- particularly for inexpensive vinyl (though I'm more ok with switching out with an energy efficient, aluminum clad, wood window that matches the old design).

I haven't ran into any houses in California with adhesive on the back, they just have an aluminum rail on the bottom and clips on top.

Maybe replace with aluminum or some of the newer plastic trims that don't need paint and won't rot.

I've done lots of painting and will address both.I've only done asbestos, aluminum, and wood.

If it's not salvageable then strip the copper, aluminum, etc. out of it so you can sell it to Atlas Metals.

It's such a pain now simply finding an insurance company willing to insure our properties in historic Riverside area of Jacksonville.The most recent issue is that of tree roots in the driveway constituting a "trip and fall" hazard.One company had returned our insurance premium based on "poor access" to water heater even though that problem was specifically resolved at rehab by relocating it to the attic.Another property was deemed uninsurable because it had "aluminum sidings".What is wrong with these insurers?
