Intervals between paint Interior and Exterior

For those that own homes with painted siding whether it be hardi board, asbestos siding, or wood lap siding, how long do you go between paintings?

I'm mainly interested in asbestos siding as opposed to wood lap board siding.

It seems to be the asbestos siding takes paint better and holds up based on what i've seen.

Just curious if that is indeed the case?
