Maybe this batch of SSNs are all from 1985-1988 for example, which is something I see on a lot of credit reports, and it'll give me a ping if the birthday I entered doesn't line up with that.

Another issue is that one child can be awarded more or less than another child, a child with issues can be awarded more than another, so just assuming an 18th birthday cuts the CS in half (2 kids) may not be the case.
