On the other hand, the downside of being a Real Estate Professional is that you get to pay FICA/Med taxes (double rate for self-employed), although you do get to then dump some pre-tax into a solo 401K.

I've talked with a few, including Leif Dahleen (Physician on FIRE), Pranay Parikh (man behind the scenes on a major doc-related personal finance brand), Vanessa Peters, Doc G, Nisha Mehta, Dawn Baker, and a few others.Generally speaking a lot of the advice boils down to:1) Do not let your lifestyle inflate like your colleagues' inevitably do when they get out of residency2) Manage your med school debt & keep it minimal (you have that handled!)

From conversations I've had with my investors and friends who are physicians, the common threads tend to be 1) more money than time 2) concern about liability 3) med school debt.You will have income very soon. 

It would cover the dwelling, other structures, *your personal property, loss of use, *your personal liability, and med pay.

Hence if you give each max retirement contributions and gold-plate med insurance, this will reduce the W-2 each employee gets to figure income taxes.

I have been following the market around Pine hills/Helderberg- targeting Albany Med/SUNY Albany. 

I did a 180 on what I wanted to do career wise (pre-med with a major in biochemistry, business minor) and want to dive into real estate investing as fast I can!

Are there companies that rent exclusively to med professionals  that you know of ?

As others have alluded to, if it is cheaper for you to rent wherever you go to med school and purchase the out-of-state multifamily to supplement your income while you are in graduate school, there is nothing wrong with that.
