However, there are Australian investors as well and I have heard that there are quite a bit of them....Surely, you need to consider tax, financing, return and risk and that would be the same if you would be investing in real estate somewhere in Europe.

NOT ALL but many.. so there is no reason to sell properties below market value like was done 5 to 8 years ago.the only way to get instant equity these days is to be a value add or distressed property buyer who spends thousands and its their job.. pretty tough to do remotely.. its a completely different model.so whatever you pay for a property that is market value.. you do want to run comps though some out fits that targeted Australians will defiantly sell for ABOVE market value.. so its important to get true comps on the properties before pulling the trigger

Greetings from Sydney,I am newbie living in Sydney, still on fase 1 studing 2h per day and reading as much as possible, BiggerPockets is where I have been taking more inf from webinars, forums and of course the podcasts, but I am a bit concern and you guys might be able to help me.As you know Australian Real Estate market is slight different than in States, I was wondering if the great calculators that BiggerPockets offer can be used here as well, and about all the inf that I am getting every day from the forums and podcast how can I filter what would be usefull for the Australian Market.Cheers,
