Our guys will take the call from the landlord and do the initial troubleshooting over the phone with you (based on what you say is happening with the appliance), coordinate the scheduling and repair with the tenant, and once they get there will let you know what is in your best interest (repairing or replacing).

Then I would clarify with them what maintenance issues are tenant related and should be charged to the tenant or for the PM to troubleshoot with them over the phone to fix the issue. 

In that same property though I do have the router in an entryway that is accessible to all residents so that a resident could troubleshoot with comcast on his/her own.  

Provide them with a trouble-shooting guide or link them to a trouble-shooting video on YouTube.

And yeah, being booted at the beginning is better than thinking an ad goes through and two days later you find crazy ad costs and then it gets canned 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️  If you’ve got an ad that won’t go through and need help troubleshooting, I’d be happy to take a look and see if I have any pointers to get you on the right track.

Well, we can set base budget limits and we do basic troubleshooting.

I follow the same path by trying to educate myself on common maintenance problems and walking the tenant through trouble-shooting before sending a tech.

After some initial setup challenges (I had to do some troubleshooting with Simplisafe support to get the system to report) the system worked great and I am very happy with the service.
