I would at least have to invest in one province over which would require significant travel, putting it on the same effort level as the US.

Would you consider another province such as Nova Scotia?

I live in Ontario and most of my investments are out of the province .

Have you considered smaller centres in other provinces?

Each province is different.

Even for your first property, it's not as hard as you might think to invest out of province.

In one province (BC), homeowners who live in their home get a large break on their property taxes that landlords don't get.Regardless of that, many people who rent do so because they can't save for a down payment or don't want to own. 

Is that rent restriction for all of Canada or certain areas/provinces?
