. - They have had to buy a portable A/C unit to cool rooms without wall A/C-Their living room is cooler because of its high ceiling, 3 outside walls, and radiators that do not heat up as hot due to being in the end of the "line", so they use a radiator heater to supplement heat and have mentioned it is cold (which is true - by why leave windows open then?)

Good morning allI'm currently rehabbing a house in Pennsylvania for rental and everything could have gone wrong went wrong.Anyway, I'm having so much issues with the plumbing system from cracked cast iron radiators to leaking pipes that the company that I hired said it will be better for me just to replace the heating system with Mini split ductless system, 5 of them for a total of 25K, my business partner is concerned that it will not be a good idea since the basement which is unused and unfinished will have no heat and pipes in the basement can break from freezing temperature and eventually cause more damages.

Some details on the multi-unit located in Glenolden (SW suburb of Philadelphia):  Old (early 1900s), 2700 sq ft, converted to 5 units with 6 separate electric panels/metersOnly 1 gas meter, 1 gas hot water heater, 1 gas furnace heat (old fashioned water radiators)Tenants on lease (month-to-month) have been there: 15 years, 11 years, 7 years, 2 years, 1 yearTenants only pay electricity; current landlord/owner pays water/sewer/trash (standard for the area); heat and hot water (only 1 gas line and hot water heater).
