Soliciting on social media is basically trying to find a needle in a haystack - you can probably find a listing or two but the amount of time and energy and resources you put into it is just not worth it. 

There can always be exceptions and deals around, but it is more like the needle in the haystack than the normal find.I think it is often a better single guy strategy than for married couples especially with kids, unless your wife is 110% on board with the idea and can see the dream at the end of the tunnel.

You can keep trying to find a needle in the haystack ( a good deals on MLS) but it is an uphill battle, as you're finding out.

You are hoping for a needle in a haystack most likely and then trying to shift the blame to the agent not the market.

However, although I never completed a transaction, I spent three months trying to close a homeowner in pre-foreclosure and It was like finding a needle in a haystack.

I plan on putting a lot of offers out there for MLS properties, and will hopefully find a needle in a hay stack.

Its tough finding good deals and you'll need to put in a lot of work doing your own marketing, finding the needle in the haystack on the MLS, or through networking (wholesalers, agents, other investors, etc). 

When looking for low interest, low price, and low down payment, you are looking for a needle in the haystack.
