I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that anyone that plants trees near the property line, allowing their garbage, leaves, whatever, to fall on the neighboring property is  self centered and inconsiderate, and a few other words.

You could also consider some greenery inside with some plants or a vase with faux stems to give it some warmth.
