I had already been investing in Lansing, MI market and we decided to continue since the price point was a good place to start. 

Although, most of Lansing is in some shade of the Trulia crime map.

I’ve been researching sub-markets such as Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Lansing, Saginaw, etc. in order to determine pros/cons vs. metro Detroit.  

I'm in Lansing now, but go to Detroit on the weekends and planning on moving to Detroit next month.
