I would get a sturdy table and place a larger than College dorm refrigerator (but not a full size Refrigerator) on it, a small apartment size electric stove (eliminates the gas line) , place a stand up 5 shelf in the kitchen for pots and pans and dishes. 

Like a covered picnic area with a few of those sturdy charcoal grills.

Plaster is very sturdy, and it sounds like things were wet only for a very limited amount of time.

Keep the process on a tight leash and don’t allow yourself to be talked into delaying the process.

Walk around the outside and look if there are drainage issues, branches overhanging the roof, is the fence sturdy, are there cracks in the foundation.You should be able to get an idea of costs for utilities and taxes.If it looks good, your realtor should walk you through the comps in the area to decide where to start with your offer and what your max price should be. 

They're sturdy, they prevent someone from looking inside without using a curtain or blind, and I think they're more attractive than a standard window with a covering.If you have an ordinary glass window, you can add a decorative tint screen that adheres to the glass.There are a variety of styles to match your decor.

Hints:  Take a very close look at the attic spaces or basement (structure seems sturdy with little "why did they put this beam or support here, it seems odd".
