The rei club here is pretty expensive, and I don't even think they do any kind of apprenticeship/mentoring.The partership thing sounds like a good idea too...

I almost fell over laughing when I read $250 to install an HVAC unit with the expectation of good results.... those guys go to HVAC apprenticeship/school/ whatever for a couple of years.

there are different levels of training.not all are worthless.. not by a long shot.although the one's that main pitch is that YOU too can get rich with little or no money.OR you don't need money for real estate and the way to do it is wholesaling.then yes I agree.but there are advanced HOW TO trainers that for the well capitalized student they can bring value.but agree the mass marketed TV Guru's generally only 10% of those that sign up will ever do anything with the information.. real estate is not a get rich quick generally speaking.. can you make a nice living yes.. is there just like any other industry an apprenticeship period yes...

I didn't read the article since what I gleamed from other posters is that it was typical shoddy reporting with a lot of missing facts to be able to figure out what actually happened.Now if there were services promised (Regardless of the ultimate quality of the product) and were not given, these "Apprenticeships" then that is a problem.

I thought about home inspector, electrician, or plumber but currently have no technical skill with any of those plus 4 year apprenticeship may be a bit much.
