That's not everyone's cup of tea but it is worth considering. 

If the repubs scare the living stuffing out of everyone over not raising the debt ceiling as it will have to be for the bond market, rates could jump, but I bet the tea baggers will hold out to the last minute to see what they can extort and then things would be fine.

The whole "Tea Baggers spit on out brave Congressmen" thing had been proven false - even the Congressmen involved have backed away from it.

They are the key financiers of the tea party (along with Murdoch) and have spent tens or perhaps hundreds of millions so far, so they're definitely spending as well.
