The last ordinance went  to RI supreme court and was overturned but the providence 3 unrelated persons ordinance was upheld in supreme court.

In the article it did say the Federal government could appeal the ruling, and my guess is they probably will, this simply adds another wrinkle to the entire debate.If I had to guess what will happen next is that this will be appealed and pending the outcome of that appeal end up going to the Supreme Court, where I would guess it will be struck down as unconstitutional.
