Thanks for the reply, I think in my case the hold up is at the law office not the county, I think the lawyer creates the deed, once it becomes signed and notarized it goes to the county to be recorded.

Regarding the notary fee, it depends how many notarizations are in the document package... sometimes you're better off eating the $200 mobile notary fee.

One tip - make sure you have all the terms of the loan in writing, even if it's not officially notarized or attorney drawn up paperwork.

Everything should be in writing (signed and notarized) - and it would even be helpful to do an open recording of each member speaking about their understanding of the group purpose, dynamic, rolls and responsibilities.
