A stay at home who came across this site by accident - why not spend time learning on something that I have no clue about :)

Kitchen accidents are more common than you would think.

SO if someone were to have an accident on the property or sue you for some reason then they can't come after your personal house, car, etc but only properties held in the LLC. 

It is no accident that municipal and county clerks look at people requesting C/E info with suspicion and often disdain. 

Even though Joe doesn't want to sue you, his insurance company will (in a heartbeat) if they feel the liability belongs to you (this is called subrogation, when the insurance carrier sues or brings a claim against a third party on behalf of their client), and if the accident happened on your property, and it was your roof beam that fell on Joe - they have a very strong case.Now...if you own the home in your personal name, all of your assets are in play.

I do not know the area at all since this was found by accident.

Next, just in case I am personally sued ( I have four family members driving around) - anybody can sue for any reason- car accident, etc - and may try and sue for houses inside LLC's I control - I have a $2 million umbrella liability policy over everything I own , control, etc, in addition to $300K/$600K liability coverage on each car.

Or how about we focus on how to fix our horrific traffic problems?

I am disabled after a car accident took my vision in 2013.
