@Kyle ElmerI found your overview of the Dunedin property market fascinating, I was considering Dunedin as I believe once remote working takes off in NZ the same way it has in the US, the smaller cities in NZ will thrive - and seeing the Gigacity win as well as the incentives for start-ups in Dunedin make it very attractive as an investor.

Tell that to my neighbor, who's son was a contractor and killed himself in 2010 after his thriving business tanked and the creditors came demanding their money.

I think she is looking for the typical small time contractor who thrives on residential rehabs.

There is apparently a thriving tech/entrepreneur scene here as well as several established Fortune 500s.
