The simplest way is to join your local REIA...They will steer you toward contractors that they have used successfully, as well as steer you away from the "not so good" time and money wasters as well.

Although, I have to say it's quite simple, but yes, it's the simplest things that are often the most difficult.  

Look for mold killing products that use different ingredients than the bleach.
