We did get a 3500 sq ft classic at auction & then flipped it to a veteran who completely restored it, including the magnificent ceiling scrolls that were buried under a dropped drywall ceiling complete with the old gas lights of years gone by.

We turned a closet into a bathroom, a study into a bedroom, added a brand new kitchen, refined flooring, opened top the space by cutting out a wall and adding an eating space, handmade radiator covers, restored historic stained glass windows and an epic fireplace!

We are worried that once we acquire the property, and rent it out, a disgruntled tenant could retaliate by reporting us to zoning, claiming that the conversion was illegal and we'd need to restore the unit to single family home or pay a fine and agree and cease renting it in the future.I realize that this is an extreme case and is unlikely to happen but I just want to make sure that we fully cover our bases before make this purchase.
