A Real Real Estate AnalogyI am starting my real estate adventure and I am trying to draw a comparison from paper assets (stocks, bonds, notes, T-bills, crypto, etc.) with real estate.For those who know a bit more than me (and i know this will vary by person) but what are corresponding "tech stocks" (AMZN, AAPL, NVDA, FB, GOOG, etc.) of real estate?

The comparisons I made were within my local market ONLY (South Florida market) so I can't speak to how the data stacks up in other areas/markets. 

It is a 4 unit home with a decent cap rate (7%) in comparison to where I am looking.

In comparison, they were down 29.3% in the West, 31.6% in the Midwest, and 39.4% in the Northeast.

For comparison, retail in Atlanta is about $35/sf and retail in Milwaukee is about $45-50/sf.

As for other potential challenges, keeping the layout consistent and dealing with any uneven subflooring might be things to watch out for.I've had a similar experience with a project like this, and I found that using this comparison site really helped me find affordable service options.

we own a piece of property that currently has 2 4 unit buildings on it, and we are in the planning phase of building 16 additional units on the property. the financing doesn’t seem to be an issue, but we are having difficulty wrapping our heads around the steps / sequence we should be doing things.

I can definitely give you some more info and, you're right, the comparison is rent vs sell (and use the money in the best way possible!).

I love this idea, but would first talk with your ciry to determine the building regs.Have you done any comparison to see the cost difference than just building a typical multi-unit property with small units?
