That is a large range but it all depends on the extent of asbestos and how much remediation is required.Considering these estimates, the $25,000 deduction you've negotiated might not cover all necessary repairs, especially if extensive work is needed for rewiring and potential asbestos abatement.

Just something else to potentially price in.The point is, there is one step to just "remediate" the existing wire, and a different step to bring it up to code...Good luck.

Fannie Mae was unwilling to spend any money on the house or make improvements - it was sold 'as is' - I paid for an inspection and hired a mold remediation expert to come in and offer me an opinion during my due dilligence period.
