This is not a get rich quick course which is why the program says he will work with you 12 months for your first deal or your money back.And if you're relying solely on Brian's course to be successful I would say that's a mistake (no offense Brian - I say this about every course).

Direct mail is a legitimate and legal form of advertising (assuming your message and imagery are not unlawful or offensive).
