As for what to study, pick something that interests you that will benefit your business- finance, accounting, marketing, architecture, construction technology, construction management, project management, any of the engineering fields, to name a few.

Hi Everyone, My name is Kevin and I'm currently practicing Architecture in Atlanta and currently working on obtaining my professional license. 

This is a house I redesigned from the studs with the help of my Master of Architecture. 

Its really making me think that we need to not be so narrow in our business plan and expand beyond fix and flip (my background is in architecture and construction management, btw, hence the bent toward fix and flip.

Builders look at architectural plans unless they are design build.

I have my own architecture business, properties here in the states, and South America and he has been able to make a sense of it all.

Again I would really have to see where your land lies in relation to the 3-d architectural drawings overlay for the development.

Second, I've owned my own Architectural firm for over 35 years, so the idea of development is 2nd nature to me...and developers don't speculate.Third, vacant land is just that...vacant.  

@Sue Kelly It is interesting that you say that given I am dealing with a similar situation with some architectural subcontractors right now. 

I think the shape of the dormers are really great, but they just look skinny and weird (technical architectural terms) because of the overly wide bottom windows - plus, the bottom windows aren't symmetrical, either.
