I had 2 tenants and just 15 days of vacancy.I bought the house on the regular market (no flipping) because as European I was not enough familiar with the US houses (wood instead of concrete) and the market.I did not purchased another house in the US just because the EURO is weak.

I actually have a cousin in the Netherlands who helps European investors buy larger buildings in other countries, but his company's focus has always been on larger markets like NYC, Tokyo, LA, Shanghai, etc.

Naples is a highly desired international hub on the west coast , not only the " US 55+ soon to be retired couples " and their kids , also many european & canadian investors.

I see great opportunities in tourist areas in European countries as well though the currency play is not as good as in other areas.  

I ask because since I am overseas and cannot use my VA loan, I'm warming up to the idea of investing in European markets.Ideally Portugal but I'm open to other places as well.

Go ask a eastern European immigrant how things feel, it's freaky.
